The German side were among the possible destinations for Ronaldo ahead of the next season.

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has insisted the Bundesliga giants won’t make a move for Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Bayern’s name emerged among the most likely destinations for Ronaldo after he told Manchester United to allow his departure this summer.

Kahn confirms Bayern officials have discussed a possible move for Ronaldo. However, he insists the club have no intentions of making a bid for the Portuguese superstar.

“We discussed this topic. otherwise we wouldn’t be doing our job properly,” the former goalkeeper told BILD.

“Personally, I think Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest-ever footballers.

“But we came to the conclusion that, despite the esteem that we hold him in, he wouldn’t have fitted our philosophy at the moment.”

Ronaldo returned to Man Utd’s training on Tuesday after missing out on their pre-season tour in Asia and Australia.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner had a meeting with Man United over his future on Wednesday. According to The Telegraph, the club have made it clear they want Ronaldo as part of their project for the next season.

Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has not slowed down his efforts to find a new club for the Portuguese star. However, with Chelsea, Bayern and Atletico Madrid ruling out interest in the 37-year-old, he will most likely have to stay at Old Trafford for another season.
