Despite their interest in Erling Haaland, O’Hara has explained why United will not be able to sign the Borussia Dortmund striking sensation.
Jamie O’Hara thinks Man Utd are ‘not good enough’ to sign Dortmund scoring sensation Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian international is wanted by all of Europe’s top clubs due to his incredible form in recent seasons.
Since joining Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020, Haaland has scored 49 goals in just 51 games.
Man United are among the clubs heavily linked with a major bid for the 20-year-old.
The player’s agent, Mino Raiola, recently travelled to Old Trafford to discuss a potential transfer.
However, former Premier League midfielder O’Hara thinks Haaland will aim to sign for a better club.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “They can’t get Haaland – because they’re not good enough. Why is he going go to Man Utd?
“It’s alright needing him, but you’ve got Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City. They need him.”
“Man Utd paid £100million for [Paul] Pogba and he’s gone there thinking they’re going to go to the next level. It hasn’t worked.”
“Haaland’s not going to go to Man Utd and be thinking ‘we might win something, we might not’, he’s going somewhere where he might win everything.”
Since Pogba re-joined the Red Devils in August 2016, they have won the Carabao Cup and the Europa League.
However, they’ve failed to bring the biggest trophies back to Old Trafford, including the Premier League and Champions League.
