Atletico Madrid have completed the permanent signing of Yannick Carrasco from Chinese Super League outfit, Dalian Professional FC.
Yannick Carrasco impressed in his half-season loan with Atletico Madrid. The Belgian scored a goal and laid down four assists in 15 La Liga appearances.
This was the 27-year-old’s second stint in the Spanish capital, spending three years on Los Rojiblancos books from 2015-2018.
With the winger reluctant to return to China, Atletico Madrid have swiftly worked to secure his services on a permanent deal. Carrasco has signed a four year contract which will keep him at Wanda Metropolitano until 2024.
“Our club has reached an agreement with Dalian Professional Football Club over the transfer of Yannick Carrasco,” Atletico Madrid’s official statement read. “The Belgian has signed a four-year contract and will continue at Atlético de Madrid, where he played on loan during the second half of last season.
“The 27-year-old was key to our third-place finish in LaLiga, netting one goal and providing four assists in 16 games and helping us to secure Champions League football for the eighth straight season.”
Diego Simeone will hope Carrasco lives up to the expectations and hits the ground running. In his previous speel with Atletico, the Vilvoorde native played 124 games for Los Rojiblancos on both flanks, hitting the back of the net 23 time while also providing 17 assists.
