Manchester United have agreed on a deal to send prodigious youngster Tahith Chong out on loan for the entire 2020/21 season.

Tahith Chong has been sent out on loan by Manchester United for the duration of the 2020/21 football season.

He will join Bundesliga side Werder Bremen on loan for one season.

The 20-year-old Dutch U21 international broke into the first team set up back in 2019 when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer called the winger into the top player’s fold.

Chong has collected both the reserve team player of the year and young player of the year award for the Red Devil’s lower level ranks but has struggled somewhat with the elite group.

The player only recently signed a contract extension until 2022 and is thought to still be held in high regard at the Theatre of Dreams.

The club’s official website confirmed the deal in a statement.

“Manchester United winger Tahith Chong, a product of the club’s fabled Academy, is set to gain valuable first-team experience in the forthcoming new season by joining Werder Bremen on loan.”

Both the player and the manager see him having a future at United in the long run.

Chong said:

“I’m at a club where, if you work hard, you get your opportunities. It’s all about taking those opportunities as well. I think we’ve got a manager who believes in young players. It’s an exciting time at the moment.”

Solskjaer added:

“We are pleased with the progress Tahith has made since he stepped up from the Academy and are looking forward to continuing to develop his talent. He has great potential; given his age, ability, and work ethic, we can see that he has a bright future at Manchester United.”
