It’s official, Tottenham Hotspur finally managed to sign Jose Mourinho’s replacement for the new Premier League season today.

Tottenham Hotspur had been looking for Jose Mourinho’s replacement for some time now, they finally announced who that new manager will be. Just a few weeks back, Daniel Levy signed Fabio Paratici as the Spurs’ new Sporting Director. He was coming fresh out of Italy with some interesting ideas of who could replace Mourinho. When he worked at Juventus, this manager was already on the Old Lady’s shortlist to possibly take the job in Serie A. But when Paratici left, his name suddenly disappeared from this list because it was his idea.

Now that he comes to Tottenham, negotiations for Nuno Espirito Santo were swift and steady. The Portuguese manager left a great impression on his work at Wolverhampton Wanderers. It was only a matter of time before a bigger club came knocking on his door. Tottenham is an ideal place for him to create a good environment where he can grow as a manager and possibly help the squad win titles.

Nuno comes with Jorgen Mendes as a package.

To those who don’t know, Nuno Espirito Santo is one of Jorge Mendes’ biggest clients at Gestifute. At Wolves, they brought several Portuguese players to the club who eventually became national team regulars. Mendes has a similar plan with Nuno for Tottenham Hotspur and Daniel Levy is happy to oblige. Everybody at Spurs is happy with this new arrival due to Espirito Santo’s recent track record.

This also opens the possibility for several players he likes as potential Tottenham signings. Through the club’s website, these were Nuno’s first words as the new manager: “When you have a squad with quality and talent, we want to make the fans proud and enjoy. It’s an enormous pleasure and honour (to be here), there’s joy and I’m happy and looking forward to starting work. We don’t have any days to lose and we must start working immediately as pre-season starts in a few days.”
