The Rossoneri have awarded their head coach with a new deal to continue his promising progress.

AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli has signed a new contract with the club until June 2023.

The 56-year-old, whose previous deal ran until the end of this season, has committed to a further 12 months at San Siro. The agreement includes an option to extend it for another season.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Pioli will earn €3.5 million per year plus add-ons as part of his new deal.

What did Pioli have to say?

“I wish to experience many more big emotions on this bench,” he told Milan TV after signing the agreement.

“We are ambitious and we want to keep going. It was great to hear the fans chant my name. I would like to join them in the Curva at some point. The win over Atletico Madrid was fantastic. I study a lot, up until the last minute. I propose nothing to the players if I have not examined it deeply beforehand.”

The former Fiorentina and Inter boss has recorded 61 wins, 25 draws, and 20 defeats in 106 matches in charge of AC Milan since replacing Marco Giampaolo in October 2019.

Pioli’s side return to action on Sunday for a Serie A match against Sassuolo at San Siro.
