AC Milan continued their transfer market offensive with the signing of Sandro Tonali from the relegated Brescia.
After what seems like an eternity, Sandro Tonali is officially a new AC Milan player. The midfielder completed his medical with the club and will wear the Number 8 jersey.
Tonali arrives from Brescia on loan for €10m with an option to buy for €10 million next June. In addition, there are add-ons of up to €15 million, while a further 10 percent sell-on clause has also been included in the deal.
He will inherit Gennaro Gattuso’s number 8 jersey, seeking permission from the Napoli manager for the honor.
Stefano Pioli will have one of the most sought after Italian midfielders in his ranks next season. Both Inter Milan and Juventus were linked with his signature, but it is the Rossoneri who have secured his services.
Milan CEO, Ivan Gazidis began the welcome party and hailed Tonali’s talents at the completion of the deal.
“We are delighted to welcome Sandro Tonali to AC Milan,” Football Italia quoted Gazidis.
“He is one of the most promising young talents in international football. Sandro has a love for the Club and an understanding of its values that will add to what we want to build together. Welcome Sandro!”
Technical Director Paolo Maldini, also welcomed the Brescia youth academy graduate.
“We are happy to welcome Sandro to the Rossoneri family,” Maldini said.
“We are convinced he can give an important contribution to build a successful future together. He is a midfielder of great prospects who will know how to interpret the values of our club.”
