According to Spanish reports, Serie A club AS Roma signed Real Madrid forward on a two-year loan agreement.
Roma signed Borja Mayoral from Real Madrid on a two-season loan. Furthermore, the striker will sign an extension in the agreement with Real Madrid.
Mayoral played two substitute matches of season 2020-21 for Los Blancos. However, he will now spend the rest of the season at Stadio Olimpico.
In addition, Roma will have the option to purchase the 23-year-old after the end of two seasons. According to some Spanish reports, Mayoral’s contract with Madrid will be extended until 2023. The previous deal was set to expire in summer 2021.
Meaning, the Spain international will come back to the La Liga champions in 2020. Unless Roma decides to press the trigger and buy the forward on a permanent basis.
“Real Madrid C. F. and AS Roma have agreed to the loan deal of Borja Mayoral for the next two seasons, until 30 June 2022,” the Spanish side said on their website on Friday.
Mayoral previously played for German side Wolfsburg in the 2016-17 season. Also, the forward appeared for Real’s rivals Levante for the last two seasons.
The Spaniard played for the Under-21 level for his national team and 37 games for Zidane’s side. Subsequently, he found the net a total of seven times in La Liga.
Consequently, Luka Jovic will become a support option for Frenchman Karim Benzema. Rumors soared that Los Blancos did not let the Serbian attacker move out of the club.
Evidently, Jovic appeared in the last two games for Madrid displaying improvement. This confirms his stay under Zinedine Zidane’s coaching.
Mayoral will undergo his medical examination this weekend in Rome.
On the other hand, Zidane is hoping to buy another attacker. Because Mariano Diaz is on the verge of leaving the club before the transfer window shuts down.
