As Kylian Mbappe’s transfer gets colder by the minute, Real Madrid just announced another French starlet from Ligue 1 as a transfer.

Real Madrid will keep trying to sign Kylian Mbappe until the final minutes of the transfer market but they just announced another Ligue 1 player. As we told you in recent news, Los Blancos were on the verge of signing Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes. Florentino Perez was keeping track of the young player for the last year as more clubs were also trying to sign him.

The chances of Mbappe going to the Spanish giants had all the attention but Perez decided to pull the trigger on the other French youngster. After a deal was reached, Camavinga signed for the next six seasons for €35 million paid to Rennes. As per Real Madrid’s official website, this is how they announced the official transfer: ”Real Madrid C. F. and Stade Rennais F. C. have reached an agreement over the transfer of Eduardo Camavinga, who joins the club on a six-year deal, until 30 June 2027.”

Camavinga will play for Real Madrid Castilla.

Due to Real Madrid’s player overbooking within the first squad, Florentino decided to leave Camavinga as a Real Madrid Castilla player. There is still a glimmer of hope for Kylian Mbappe to leave PSG during the final minutes of the transfer window. If this happens, Los Blancos want to make sure there is a spot reserved for the PSG star just in case.

Camavinga will surely play with the first squad but leaving him in Castilla is the smartest move to make. As one of France’s biggest offensive hopes, Eduardo is arguably amongst the top teenage talents all around the world. Even if Kylian Mbappe doesn’t become a Real Madrid player, Camavinga’s arrival is great news for the Spanish giants. Carlo Ancelotti will be extremely happy with this arrival in order to reinforce the club’s midfield.
