The French World Cup winner has pulled the curtain on his Premier League career by taking up a lucrative offer in the Middle East.

N’Golo Kante, the star midfielder for Chelsea, has officially joined Al Ittihad. He has signed a four-year contract with the Saudi Arabia champions.

Kante will be joining his fellow Frenchman Karim Benzema, who also recently signed with the Saudi side from Spanish giants Real Madrid. Al Ittihad confirmed the transfer with a tweet that read, “Don’t believe in fake news. Kante is an Ittihad player now.”

The 32-year-old joins the Saudi club on a free transfer as his Chelsea deal will expire at the end of this month.

Reportedly, Kante’s contract is worth a whopping €100 million! He’ll earn €25 million per season, along with income from commercial deals and image rights. The club will present him in Jeddah next month.

The move ends Kante’s seven-year stay at Chelsea. The midfielder leaves Stamford Bridge with an impressive track record. He won the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League, and FA Cup during his time with the club. However, injuries plagued his most recent season, as he missed a total of 38 matches across all competitions. Chelsea struggled without him, finishing 12th in the league.

Al Ittihad, coached by former Wolves and Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo, finished five points above Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr to clinch the Saudi Pro League title last season.
