Through an Instagram post, full-back Nelson Semedo confirmed that he is no longer a Barcelona player as he nears Wolves.

Nelson Semedo himself has confirmed he no longer represents FC Barcelona through an Instagram post. The Portuguese player arrived at Can Barça in 2017, where he established himself as a regular right-back. During the years he played for the Blaugrana, he won two La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey, and a Spanish Supercup.

Despite his trophies, there was never a feeling that Semedo was cut to play for Barcelona and the club decided to get money out of his transfer. The club that was more interested in his services was Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are managed by Nuno Espirito Santo. A Portuguese manager who adds Semedo to a 10-man list of compatriots at the English club.

Nelson’s arrival puts Wolves in a very interesting position as one of the potential underdogs of this new Premier League season. The player will leave €35 million to Barcelona plus add-ons, which will be used by Koeman to buy new players.

Semedo’s heartfelt farewell to Barcelona.

The full-back expressed his feelings through a letter that he wrote on his official Instagram account. He is set to fly to England over the next hours in order to become a new Wolverhampton Wanderers’ player.

“Thank you Barcelona for giving me the opportunity to live the dream of wearing this jersey and to play at Camp Nou. Thanks for helping me learn and enjoy from the best players in the world.

“I would like to thank you for making me grow as a player and as a person. It’s been three wonderful years that I will never forget. I would also like to thank my teammates, the staff, the supporters, and every person who helped me from the moment I arrived until today.

“I wish you the best luck in the world. Forever grateful. Visca al Barça. 🔵🔴”
