Napoli have announced the signing of midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
As part of the influx of transfers on deadline day, Bakayoko will be playing his 2020/21 football on loan with Napoli. The Serie A side announced the deal in a statement on their website on Monday evening.
The French midfielder joins the Stadio San Paolo on a dry loan and according to reports. Chelsea will pay half of his wages during the current season.
Bakayoko had been linked with a return to Milan where he played on loan in the 2018-19 campaign under Rino Gattuso.
The Italian coach had requested his services to strengthen the Azzurri team in the middle of the park. Napoli managed to bring him back to Serie A.
Napoli have also announced that their defender Sebastiano Luperto has joined Crotone on loan until the end of the season.
Bakayoko looks to be surplus to requirements at Chelsea and it’s no surprise given the Blues’ summer activity.
The midfielder will now look to impress under Gennaro Gattuso in a new-look Napoli this term.
The Partenopei could still announce one or two more signings before the end of deadline day. We’ll be sure to cover them just as you’ve guessed.
