Leicester have completed the signing of Belgium international Timothy Castagne. He is expected to come in as a replacement for Ben Chilwell.

Leicester have completed the signing of Timothy Castagne from Atalanta for €24m on a five-year deal.

The Foxes lost one of their key players when Ben Chilwell departed to join Chelsea in a deal worth €56m.

Leicester have acted fast to get their replacement in Timothy Castagne. He now comes to fill the void on the left-hand side for Brendan Rodgers.

The 24-year-old started his career with native side Genk in 2014. He starred for the club for three years before going on to make the switch to Atalanta.

On Thursday afternoon, the Foxes announced the signing of Castagne via a statement on the club’s website.

The versatile player is mainly a right-back but can play anywhere across the defense line.

Reports say Brendan Rodgers would feature him on the left and also as a make-shift option for other positions if the need arises.

Castagne saw his stock rise with Serie A side Atalanta where he made 76 total appearances in his three-year stint with the club. He scored five goals in that time span.

The 24-year-old helped the Serie A side to a third-place finish in the league, behind only Juventus and Inter Milan. La Dea also impressed on the continental front and made it to the Champions League quarter-finals.

At Leicester, Castagne will join fellow international teammates Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet who already star for the Foxes.
