Inter Milan have announced the signing of Aleksandar Kolarov, who has reportedly put pen to paper on a one-year contract.
Aleksandar Kolarov has put an end to his three-year stay at AS Roma and switched his allegiance to Inter Milan.
Inter have failed to provide a figure regarding his transfer fee but reliable sources suggest they paid €1.5 million, an amount that could rise depending on various targets being met.
The extent of the 34-year old fullback’s stay has not been made official either, but according to reports he has signed a deal for 12 months with an option to extend it for an equal duration.
A statement on the report announcing the new acquisition on the club’s official website read: “Aleksandar Kolarov is officially an Inter player. The Serb joins on a permanent deal from Roma.
“From the left full-back position, his game is one of motivation and discipline. And an air of seriousness that Aleksandar has always carried, at the cost of coming off a little surly.
“That he is not, he is simply Kolarov: a lover of the football, conscious of his own ability and with a desire, even at 35 years of age, to add pages to a story, which has seen him become captain of Serbia, of which he is very proud.”
The former Lazio and Manchester City defender made 132 appearances in total at Stadio Olimpico, scored 19 goals, but was unsuccessful in winning even a single piece of silverware.
Kolarov becomes Antonio Conte’s sixth signing of this summer after Georgios Vagiannidis, Achraf Hakimi, Alexis Sanchez, Nicolo Barella, and Stefano Sensi.
