Chelsea’s longest-serving player has officially ended his contract with the Blues to join Portuguese side Braga.

Brazilian midfielder Lucas Piazon has finally left Chelsea on a permanent basis, joining Braga on a free transfer.

Piazon moved to London back in 2011, at the age of 17 from Sao Paulo. He played for Chelsea’s youth team, before making his competitive debut in the 2012-13 campaign.

It was the first of what turned out to be a total of only three appearances for the Blues.

The Brazilian had several loan spells during his 10 years as a Chelsea player. Piazon appeared only once in the Premier League though.

“Lucas Piazon is the new reinforcement of SC Braga. The attacking midfielder played in Liga NOS this season with Rio Ave and signed for the club until 2025.

“The 26-year-old was present in most major European leagues.ย SC Braga’s most recent signing has spent time at Chelsea, Malaga, Vitesse, Eintracht Frankfurt, Reading, Fulham, Chievo, and Rio Ave.

“Lucas Piazon is SC Braga’s seventh signing this season,” read the statement on Braga’s official website.
