Barcelona have announced the departure of young starlet Jean-Clair Todibo on a season-long loan to Benfica.
Benfica and Barcelona have reached an agreement for a season-long loan deal for Jean-Clair Todibo.
The agreement will hold for the next 2 seasons, in which Benfica will take over the player’s salary payment and pay the Catalan club a total of 2 million euros. The Portuguese club will also have a purchase option of 20 million euros.
Details of the move for Todibo was announced via a statement on the Barcelona website on Monday night.
Elsewhere, Barca have been trying to get a deal for Eric Garcia over the line on deadline day. As it stands, it looks as though the defender will stay at Manchester City for now. He is into the final year of his contract though which means he’ll be a free agent next summer.
The departure for Todibo means Barca’s center-back options now look to be Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Ronald Araujo and Samuel Umtiti for 2020-21.
However, some reports claim Barca B’s Santiago Ramos Mingo could be given a promotion to the first-team setup.
