Official: Barcelona renew another young star’s contract

On the day Barcelona won against Dynamo Kyiv, the club decided to offer a contract extension to another young star at the Catalan club. 

FC Barcelona is making sure all their young stars are getting contract extensions, they just sealed the deal for another player’s future at the club. Recently, Pedri signed a new deal that was announced by the club in the middle of a difficult time. They needed to close the deal on another one of their most important players for the next decade. Ansu Fati quickly became a fan favorite after breaking some historic records in his first two years at FC Barcelona.

The final details of this contract are very telling of what the club wants for their new number ‘10’. Right after the end of the Barcelona match tonight, he rushed to the club’s main offices in order to sign the new contract. According to Sport, the club sealed the deal from now until June 2027 with a substantial increase in his annual wages. Also, the release clause is identical to Pedri’s release clause: €1 billion. The main target is to scare away the state-controlled clubs such as PSG, Manchester City, or Newcastle United. 

Barcelona make it official through a photoshoot. 

The Catalan club published a series of photos through their social media accounts and also published an article with the announcement on their official website. Here’s what they wrote: “FC Barcelona and the player Ansu Fati have reached an agreement to renew his contract until 30 June 2027. The buy-out clause is set at 1 billion euros.

“The formalizing of the new contract that will tie the La Masia product to the club for the rest of the season the next five will take place on Thursday 21 October with the following schedule: At 12 p.m. CEST photo session and subsequent press conference at the Auditori 1899. You can follow the event around the world on Barça TV+ from 11:30 a.m. CEST with a special program which will include the presence of the player at Camp Nou.”
