After a successful loan spell at the Emirates last season, Martin Odegaard has joined Arsenal on a permanent deal from Real Madrid.
Martin Odegaard has completed a permanent move to Arsenal from Real Madrid in a deal worth €35 million with potential add-ons rising to around €40m.
The Norway international has signed a four-year deal until 2025, with the option for another 12 months included. He will wear the No.8 jersey for his second spell in north London.
Arsenal confirmed Odegaard’s arrival on Friday morning after he completed a two-part medical on Thursday and signed his contract.
But the 22-year-old midfielder won’t be available for selection until he has visa clearance. Therefore, he cannot face London rivals Chelsea for Sunday’s Premier League showdown. That said, Odegaard won’t have to isolate as he is double vaccinated.
The former Stromsgodset star returns to Arsenal following a six-month loan spell last season. He made 20 appearances in all competitions, supplying two goals and two assists.
