They finally made the announcement, AC Milan has a new player on their squad who just arrived from English football tonight.

AC Milan finally made the official announcement of their new defender coming from English football today. Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori arrives in Italy to search for those minutes he wants in order to keep growing as a professional. He comes to the Rossoneri on a loan that ends by the end of the season with an option to buy him for €25 million. The main idea of this purchase is for Tomori to make the final list for the 2021 Euro during the summer.

If you don’t know, he is eligible to play for the England National Team that is coached by Gareth Southgate. Despite being born in Canada, Tomori prefers playing for the Three Lions. Coming to the Italian Serie A is a big step forward in his career as a professional. Also, Stefano Pioli keeps working hard alongside Paolo Maldini to find the perfect young prospects who can improve AC Milan. So far, this philosophy has done wonders for the historic club.

AC Milan makes Tomori official.

The Rossoneri announced Tomori through their official website: “AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Oluwafikayomi Oluwadamilola Tomori on loan from Chelsea FC until the end of the season. The defender has signed a contract until June 30, 2021, but AC Milan have an option to make the deal permanent. Tomori was born in Calgary (Canada) on December 19, 1997. He spent his youth career at Chelsea and made his Premier League debut with the London-based club in 2016.

“Between January 2017 and June 2019, Tomori played for Brighton (10 appearances), Hull City (26 appearances), and Derby County (55 appearances and 2 goals) before returning to Chelsea, where he registered 27 appearances and 2 goals. Born in Canada, he became a British citizen through naturalization. Tomori played 3 games for the Canada Under-20 team before deciding to represent England internationally – he was part of the England Under-20 team that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2017 and made his debut for the England senior side in November 2019. The defender will wear the number 23 jersey.”
