Nuno Espirito Santo has admitted that his side are working on getting deals over the line before the summer transfer window slams shut.
Wolves sold Matt Doherty, one of their best players of the last season, to Tottenham last month for a fee reported in the region of €16 million.
The Wanderers have since been understood to be in the market for a new right-back, with FC Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo emerging as their No.1 candidate in recent weeks.
The Europa League quarter-finalists of the last season have put an offer of €38 million for Semedo. They are hopeful of their bid being accepted despite Barca holding out for €40 million for their defender, according to the Guardian.
Semedo, who was an unused substitute in Barca’s 1-0 win over Elche on Saturday, is reportedly wanted out of Camp Nou as he is not in Ronald Koeman’s plans for the club.
Wolves have already brought in a new right-sided defender in the shape of Ki-Jana Hoever in a transfer worth around €14 million from Liverpool.
Nuno Espirito Santo, however, suggests his side are not done with their transfer window despite having already signed six new players.
“We had our targets identified and we have them. We are working on them,” Nuno told Sky Sports after the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City.
“I’m sorry but I cannot go much further than this. Let’s wait for things to be clear. Until the transfer window is closed we must balance our squad.”
