Jose Mourinho insists Tottenham’s clash against Chelsea is just another game for him and is not in any way special to him.
Chelsea and Tottenham will face off at the weekend in a game that will see Jose Mourinho return to Stamford Bridge.
The Portuguese boss became a hero at Stamford Bridge when he arrived in 2004 and won them their first Premier League title.
Mourinho went on to defend it and claimed a third as Chelsea boss when he returned for a second spell in-charge back in 2014/15.
That game is also a potential top-of-the-table clash, with Tottenham leading the pile on goal difference at the moment and Chelsea in third place with 18 points.
However, it is just another fixture for Jose Mourinho.
“It’s just another game for me,” said the Tottenham boss ahead of the clash as per Sky Sports.
“No problem at all. Going [to Stamford Bridge] top of the league or going there with Liverpool top of the league doesn’t change anything for us,” said Mourinho, who reiterated playing former club Chelsea was just another game.
“As I was saying since the beginning of the season we are only or always contenders to win the next match. Nothing more than that.”
“We are going to be there [at Chelsea], with three possible results. We are in football for a long time, we know that anything can happen, but we go there, and our objective is to win the game.”
Mourinho lost twice in the League to Lampard last term and he’ll be eager to avoid a repeat of that this season.
