The Manchester City striker went down with an injury during the dying moments of Norway’s last game.

Erling Haaland faces a potential setback due to an ankle injury from Norway’s 2-0 victory against the Faroe Islands.

Haaland, who came off the bench at half-time, went down clutching his left ankle in the closing stages of the match on Thursday.

The Norway team doctor, Ola Sand, downplayed the extent of the injury but confirmed that Haaland would undergo treatment. Speaking to TV2, Dr. Sand mentioned that Haaland would receive treatment. The medical team would then assess his condition the next morning.

Describing the nature of the injury, Dr. Sand stated, “It was much of the same that happened against Bournemouth a week and a half ago. He has had it before too. He gets a slight twist in his ankle, where he is a bit vulnerable. It hurts a lot right away, and then it goes away pretty quickly.”

Haaland will hope to make a quick recovery for Sunday, when Norway take on Scotland in an upcoming Euro 2024 qualifier.

The 23-year-old has already been in contact with Manchester City and their chief doctor, Mario Pafundi, over his condition.
