The Manchester City boss has opened up on his future plans and his willingness to coach a national team.

Pep Guardiola has spent a glorious time at Manchester City since joining the club in 2016. The Spaniard’s current contract runs until 2023, with the coach hinting several times he might leave the club after that.

In case of a departure, Guardiola will most likely attract great interest from several clubs. However, the former Bayern Munich boss says he will not coach another Premier League side after Man City.

Asked whether he would like to coach a national team, Guardiola responded: “I’d love to, I’ve already said that when I finish here I’d like to lead a team at the World Cup,” he told Marca

The Spaniard have won three Premier League trophies, one FA Cup, and four League Cup titles at Manchester City.

He added: “But it’s not easy to find one. There are few positions. So I’d like to, but if that doesn’t happen I’ll coach clubs, which would be no problem. But in England, being here, I think it will only ever be Manchester City, even if I were to go back to City should they want me. I wouldn’t coach any other club in England aside from this one.”

Like his entire time at Man City, Guardiola is chasing Premier League triumph in a tight race. The Citizens are only one point behind Chelsea after defeating West Ham 2-1 on Sunday.

Guardiola will now have to prepare his team to face Aston Villa in their next league game on Wednesday.
