Let’s take a look at the Ligue 1 match between Nimes and Paris Saint-Germain that took place at Stade des Costeres in France.

Paris Saint-Germain faced Nimes in Costeres without Neymar for the return of Ligue 1. The reigning champions of France continue their complicated return to the top of the table against all the other clubs that will do anything to stop them. A modest Nimes side doesn’t have any major names to compete, but they do have their pride.

All throughout the first half, the local squad had enough gas to withstand Kylian Mbappe’s constant attacks. Goalkeeper Reynet became the first-half’s man of the match with at least five saves. However, the French youngster didn’t forgive the biggest chance he had during the first 45 minutes. A beautiful assist given by Rafinha from the deep could set him up for success. His finishes resemble more those of Ronaldo Nazario’s by the minute.

Nimes could only hold for so long.

Holding a 1-0 result against the current Champions League runner-up can only take so long, Nimes was destined to lose by a large margin. Especially after losing Landre early in the first half due to a direct red card. Pablo Sarabia was the man of the match during the second half with two assists and one goal.

PSG’s second goal came from Florenzi after Sarabia left him with no marker inside the box with a precise assist. The Spaniard set Mbappe up for his second goal, and he closed the count with a long-range effort. A victory that leaves the French giants at the top of the table until tomorrow. Rennes, Lille, and Lens still have to play their respective matches over the weekend and can still claim the top of Ligue 1.
