A Super Eagles striker was finally able to find the back of the net on Thursday following a long-lasting dry spell.

Nigerian star Paul Onuachu is over the moon after putting an end to his goal drought in Genk’s comfortable victory over Sporting Charleroi.

Onuachu, who hadn’t scored since the end of October, handed his team the lead 10 minutes before the break before Junya Ito, Patrik Hrosovsky, and Luca Oyen also got on the scoresheet to secure a 4-2 win for Genk.

Onuachu hadn’t scored in his last six matches for the Belgian Jupiler League side across all competitions. The 27-year-old’s struggles in front of goal proved problematic for his team as they endured a nine-game winless streak.

“It is very pleasing to score again after a few weeks,” Onuachu said after the full-time whistle at the Cristal Arena, (via Voetbal).

“There was a lot of space for us to walk in, and that gave us quite a few opportunities.

“Now two more bangs to close the year.”
