The Serie A heavyweights are on the verge of adding a new winger to their ranks.
Atalanta are reportedly close to completing a transfer for Nigeria international Ademola Lookman.
Following a successful loan spell at Leicester City, the RB Leipzig star is now on the verge of joining his next club.
According to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Atalanta are now close to signing the Nigerian forward. Leipzig are reported one step away from reaching a full agreement with their Serie A counterparts for the move.
Lookman emerged as a sensational talent in the academy ranks of Charlton Athletic. After making a permanent move to RB Leipzig in 2019, he went on to spend two loan spells in the Premier League.
After an underwhelming stint at Fulham, Lookman joined Leicester last summer. He went on to make 42 appearances for the Foxes across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.
Atalanta were also hoping to sign Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares this summer. However, the Portuguese left-back is close to joining Marseille ahead of the next season.
An underwhelming 2021-22 campaign saw Atalanta finish eighth in Serie A.
Following Lookman’s possible arrival, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are keen to further bolster their attacking line by signing Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti, who spent the last season on loan at Empoli.
