The Super Eagles have been forced to get creative after a set of untimely injuries in their attacking line.

Jose Peseiro has named his squad for Nigeria’s upcoming friendly match against Algeria.

The Super Eagles boss has handed Raphael Onyedika his maiden national team call-up. The defensive midfielder has recently left FC Midtjylland to join Club Brugge after a fantastic spell at the Danish side.

Kevin Akpoguma and Henry Onyekuru, have also received call-ups after spending long spells out of the national team.

Nigerian fans were most curious to see how Peseiro would react to the recent injury of Victor Osimhen.

The Napoli star’s absence hyped up the Super Eagles fans for seeing Real Sociedad’s Umar Sadiq up front.

However, Sadiq’s untimely injury has forced Peseiro to call up another Serie A striker.

Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers will be available to play for Nigeria in their upcoming friendly against Algeria. Let’s see if he can prove his worth before the Super Eagles take on Portugal in their next friendly fixture on November 17.
