The Italian star leaves Galatasaray only six months after joining them from Roma.
Aston Villa are reportedly on the verge of signing Nicolo Zaniolo on loan.
Zaniolo completed a surprise winter move to Galatasaray as he struggled for playing time under Jose Mourinho. He made a total of 10 Super Lig games for the Turkish champions before attracting interest from Aston Villa.
According to TuttoSport, Villa have reached an agreement to sign Zaniolo on a loan deal with a buy-out option. The Premier League side will pay a €3m loan fee and have the option to make the move permanent for around €27m.
Villa’s impressive improvement under Unai Emery has convinced them to bolster their squad this summer. The club, who will play in the UEFA Conference League this season, have already added three new players to their squad.
Moussa Diaby has arrived on a €55m move from Bayer Leverkusen, while the club have also signed Pau Torres from Villarreal for around €33m. Villa also completed a move for Youri Tielemans, who left Leicester City after their relegation from the Premier League.
Following Zaniolo’s arrival, Villa are expected to pursue a transfer for Sevilla’s Marcos Acuna. On the other hand, Lucas Digne, who reportedly has suitors from Saudi Arabia, could leave the club before the transfer window’s deadline.
