Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has explained why he believes Blues star N’Golo Kante is the world’s best player.
William Gallas rates N’Golo Kante as the best player on the planet and feels his ‘phenomenal’ achievements speak for themselves.
Kante begins his Euro 2020 campaign against Germany on Tuesday hoping to win a second major title with France, having previously done so in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The 30-year-old heads to the tournament off the back of a superb campaign at club level. He thrived under Thomas Tuchel and proved key in Chelsea’s charge to Champions League success.

Kante’s impressive feats have made him a contender for the 2021 Ballon d’Or award, and Gallas has no doubts where his compatriot should be in the rankings.
“Everybody loves N’Golo and it is easy to see why,” the former Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham defender told 101 Great Goals.
“For me at the moment, he is the best player in the world.
“I know people will talk about strikers because fans like to see goals and they appreciate attacking players more.
“But if you look at what N’Golo has done since he arrived in England, it is phenomenal.
“He won the league with Leicester, then went to Chelsea and won it there, he has won the Europa League and now the Champions League as well as winning the World Cup with France.
“That is amazing. For me he is the best player in the world.”
