After getting his third man of the match award, Neymar made a surprising prediction and he made his Copa America final wish.
Neymar has been absolutely outstanding throughout this Copa America with Brazil, he just reached the final last night. The game against Peru gave us a glimpse into what we can expect from him and a couple of other Brazilian players. Alongside Lucas Paqueta, Neymar played outstanding Jogo Bonito against Peru. However, playing the final against either Argentina or Colombia will be very different. Alongside Messi, Neymar has been arguably the best player of the tournament.
In previous years, we’ve always wanted a final between these two friends at the top of their game. Judging on what we might get after today, it appears that’s exactly what we are getting for the Copa America final. We still have to see if Argentina can defeat the Colombia National Team. But Messi seems too focused on his target this time around, Neymar knows this perfectly. After getting his most recent man of the match award, he spoke to the press about a variety of topics.
Neymar wants Argentina in the final.
During the match against Peru, we could see Neymar was thoroughly enjoying himself playing next to Lucas Paqueta. There was a moment in which they made a brilliant midfield combination that resembled the old Jogo Bonito days. It was Neymar who set the goal up for Paqueta to score the winner against Peru. After 90 minutes, there was no question that Neymar is currently playing at the top of his game ahead of the great final.
After the match, the Brazilian star made a bold prediction about the rival he wants to face in the last game of the tournament: “I want Argentina, I am cheering them on,” Neymar said with a smile via Yahoo Sports. “I have friends there and in the final Brazil will win. Paqueta is a fantastic player. He keeps growing every game. Roberto Tobar can’t do what he did, he was arrogant. You can make mistakes but arrogance is unacceptable. He can’t be the referee in a semifinal if he is arrogant.”
