Paris Saint-Germain’s star Neymar was sidelined against Barcelona due to injury and reacted to the game on social media.
It’s a tale as old as time, Neymar sidelined with an injury as February begins. The Brazilian star was heavily criticized and some even claimed he was faking injuries to be able to attend his sister’s birthday and Brazil’s biggest party of the year, the Carnaval.
However, Neymar stayed in Paris this time and decided to comment on Paris Saint-Germain’s clash against Barcelona in the Champions League’s Round of 16. In fact, one of his tweets raised havoc online and was quickly erased by the PSG forward. On it, Neymar questioned the veracity of the penalty awarded to Barcelona after Frenkie de Jong fell in the penalty box. However, both the match referee and VAR agreed that the Dutch midfielder had been taken down by Kurzawa.
Perhaps Neymar believed he had jumped into conclusion too quickly and took down the tweet shortly after. In fact, some even claim the Brazilian star deleted his comment because Messi scored the penalty. It is well known that he wants the Argentinian to join PSG next season.
The 29-year-old attacker also hailed Mbappe on Twitter after his hat-trick. Moreover, Neymar praised Paredes’ performance and congratulated the entire squad for their efforts against Barcelona. Nevertheless, fans will surely be more interested in this deleted tweet more than any other comment.
