The Brazilian superstar was one of the world’s finest players while in Spain and he remains so in France, but a lot has changed about him.
Neymar has “increased his arsenal” ever making the jump from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-German, says Tite as he discusses how the forward has developed his all-round game.
PSG broke the bank to steal Neymar from Barcelona back in 2017, splashing a world-record €222 million.
The attacker had joined Barca from Brazilian side Santos and firmly forged his reputation as one of the very best players in the world, forming a lethal partnership with Lionel Messi and winning eight major honors, during his four years at Camp Nou.
The Brazilian superstar has gone on to enjoy immense success at PSG, winning nine trophies so far. With Kylian Mbappe, he has also formed one of the deadliest attacking duos in Europe.
“Neymar has matured a lot,” Tite told FIFA.com. “Before, when he was at Barcelona and in my early days with the Selecao, he was a player who would be out on the wing, would score goals, had pace, would dribble, do individual plays.
“Now he’s expanded the area in which he plays and, as well as being a goalscorer, he creates plays for others. He’s now what we call a ‘bow and arrow’ – he can set things up and finish things off.
“He’s increased his arsenal.”
