The Blues suffered another embarrassing defeat as Newcastle made another perfect display at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle defeated Chelsea 4-1 in their Premier League game on Saturday. A dominant display in the second half ensured Newcastle’s crushing victory on home soil.

What happened?

Newcastle found a solid start to the game as they went ahead through Alexander Isak’s opener in the 13th minute. However, Chelsea managed to get back into the match only ten minutes later.

Raheem Sterling’s spectacular free kick revived Chelsea’s hopes of completing their comeback in the second period. But things didn’t go as planned for the Blues after the break.

Newcastle restored their lead through Jamaal Lascelles just before the hour-mark. Only a minute later, Thiago Silva’s bizarre blunder inside the box saw Joelinton make it 3-1 for the hosts.

Things got even worse for Chelsea when Reece James was sent off with a second yellow card after a foul on Anthony Gordon. Gordon then put the icing on the cake for Newcastle by scoring their fourth goal of the night with a perfect low shot in the 83rd minute.
