Arsenal loanee Joe Willock struck late for Newcastle to deny Tottenham three points after Harry Kane looked to have sealed the game.
Arsenal youngster Joe Willock grabbed a late equalizer to earn Newcastle a point against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Magpies started strongly and they deservedly took the lead via a Joelinton goal in the 28th minute. However, Spurs responded well to going behind. It took only 31 seconds for Harry Kane to find the equalizer before he turned the game around with another four minutes later.
A quick-fire brace for Harry Kane saw him continue his impressive form for club and country this season, having scored 19 goals alongside 13 assists in the Premier League.
Infact, only Robert Lewandowski has more domestic goal contributions than the Englishman in Europe’s top-five leagues.
Despite going behind, Newcastle stayed in the game and continued to threaten as much as they could on certain occasions.
Harry Kane should have grabbed a hat-trick and put the game beyond doubt in the 84th minute when he sent in a low shot that hit the upright. That miss proved to be costly as Joe Willock came off the bench to grab a late equalizer for the hosts less than a minute after Kane’s earlier miss.
With the result, Tottenham missed out on a golden chance to move into the top four after Chelsea dropped points to West Brom yesterday.
It doesn’t get any easier as Spurs will now take on Manchester United for their next outing in the Premier League.
