The Magpies snatched a crucial home win to claim the third spot on the league table.

Newcastle defeated Chelsea 1-0 in their Premier League game on Saturday. Chelsea remained winless in the league for the fourth consecutive game, putting their eighth spot in grave danger.

Newcastle are on FIRE! 🔥

Newcastle came into the game on the back of a four-game winning streak in the Premier League.

Eddie Howe’s side made sure to display their good form by limiting Chelsea’s attacking opportunities early on.

The Blues grew more and more frustrated as they weren’t able to find spaces behind Newcastle’s backline before half-time.

Similar to the first half, Newcastle were the better side at the beginning of the second period.

Following a few missed chances, Miguel Almiron broke through Chelsea’s defence to make a run across the face of the box. He then provided a short pass for Joe Willock, who smashed the ball home with a powerful finish.

Newcastle then did a wonderful job of controlling the game by winning most of the physical battles in midfield.

Chelsea found a few half-chances, but none of them was serious enough to threaten the hosts’ win.
