After helping complete the £300 million Saudi Arabia-backed takeover, Amanda Staveley responded to the Kylian Mbappe-Newcastle transfer links.
Newcastle United director Amanda Staveley has promised ‘world-class players’ in response to the Kylian Mbappe transfer links.
It’s only been two days since Staveley helped a Saudi consortium complete a £300 million purchase of one of English football’s doziest sleeping giants, yet the transfer rumors are already in full swing.
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle could have around £190 million to spend in January. The fact they don’t have to worry about Financial Fair Play rules sweetens the deal. To cap it off, Tottenham striker Harry Kane and even PSG star Mbappe are both apparently ‘within reach’.

Although Staveley, whose company, PCP Capital Partners, has also purchased a 10% stake in Newcastle, didn’t drop any names while promising star recruits.
Questioned by The Sun on if Newcastle would be interested in signing the likes of Mbappe, Staveley said: “We are in the market to compete for world-class players.
“We have great ambitions — I hope it’s going to be a game-changer for Newcastle United. But if you don’t put the infrastructure around that world-class player and you don’t have a team that can play with him, you’ll get nowhere.”
She added: “The training ground is really awful and needs a huge amount of investment. Luckily, that is one area we are not restricted by Financial Fair Play. There is no point in having fantastic players if there is nowhere for them to train.
“To get to the top of the Premier League, you need a strong foundation, not just great players. They need to be robust and we need to build them.
“We also want to invest in St James’ Park — it needs a little bit more love.”
