A frustrated Gary Neville has urged Manchester United to sign three new players before the transfer window shuts.
Donny van de Beek is the only new signing to arrive at Manchester United as the October 5 transfer deadline edges ever closer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hoped to sign Jadon Sancho, but chances of a move for the Borussia Dortmund star appear remote. Harry Kane, Jack Grealish, and Edinson Cavani were also reportedly of interest.
And while United appear to have failed abysmally in the transfer window, their rivals have strengthened.
The pressure, as a result, is building on Solskjaer’s shoulders following a lackluster start to the season. United may have recorded two wins out of three in all competitions, but their performances haven’t been convincing.
Therefore, Neville has aimed a fresh dig at the club’s business in the transfer window so far and urged the chiefs to bring in reinforcements in three key areas before it’s too late.
A new center-back, left-back, and forward are a must.
“It’s appalling that in this market which is probably the easiest in PL history to get transfers done that United haven’t done more yet!” the ex-Red Devils defender wrote on Twitter.
“They must get Ole a CB, LB and forward pre-deadline! The others are managing to get things over the line why not United!”
After one brave follower accused Neville of trying to pile pressure on United to make signings, he responded: “They’ve needed these positions filling for 12 months, had a national lockdown to regroup and re-set and ample time to maneuver deals to a conclusion.”
United will be back in action tonight for an EFL Cup clash with Brighton.
