Manuel Neuer insists that Bayern Munich’s motivation to perform the way they have is down to their loyal fans.
It almost sounds like an oxymoron or that Manuel Neuer has lost the plot. Particularly when he credits the fan’s support and the teams are playing in an empty stadium.
Since the return to action following the COVID-19 lockdown, football has been played behind closed doors. Fans have been watching from afar.
This, however, has not stopped the Red Army of Bavaria encouraging its heroes through various mediums.
According to Neuer the lengths, the fans have gone to ensuring the team knows they are behind them has pushed the players onto the next level.
Speaking to the club’s official website he said:
“The team was enormously motivated by the many videos and photos that were received through the club’s digital media channels.”
“Let’s continue in the same way on our ‘Mission Red’ together we can achieve great things!”
“We the players will give everything in Lisbon for you, for the club and for our dream and we know that our hearts will be with you all at home as well.”
“Despite the great distance between us, we’ll keep on playing until we have reached our common goal.”
The players are apparently intent on sharing another trophy and fully focused on the task at hand.
