Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi says he was pleased with Leicester’s season as a whole despite their failure to secure a top-four finish.

Despite how it seems, Wilfred Ndidi was pleased with Leicester’s achievements in the Premier League last season.

The Foxes were primed to secure a top-four finish all season but inconsistency towards the end saw them miss out.

It went down to the final day and Ndidi couldn’t inspire his side to a victory over Manchester United.

Leicester could only manage a fifth-place finish after the final standings.

Many criticized the Foxes for blowing a great chance they had early on. Regardless, Ndidi says there are positives for himself and his teammates to learn from.

“I feel very great, I feel very happy,” Ndidi said to NFF media.

“It was a mixed feeling because in the last game, we should have done well to qualify for the Champions League. But in all, it was a great season and we can’t complain.”

“It was a season for us to learn from going into [the 2020-21 campaign], and there are so many positives to take from last season.”

Ndidi has established himself as arguably the best defensive midfielder in the Premier League since he arrived at Leicester in 2017.

The 23-year-old says he is focused on team achievements than individual plaudits.

“For me, I just want to play football and help the team – which is more important than personal credit. If the team is doing well, then its fine for me,” he added.
