The Citizens boss is hungry for more glory with his squad after last season’s treble success.

Pep Guardiola has warned his Manchester City players to avoid any treble hangovers going into the new season, according to defender Nathan Ake.

Manchester City dominated football last season after winning a historic treble. They won the Premier League title, the FA Cup, and the Champions League. But rather than rest on their laurels, manager Guardiola is already focused on how to take his team to even greater heights.

During the club’s pre-season tour in Japan, Ake revealed that Guardiola has addressed the subject of ‘going again’. The coach emphasized the importance of not being complacent to his squad, as well as maintaining their high standards.

“The manager already picked up on how we can go again. He doesn’t want anyone slipping up or being too casual,” the Dutchman said.

“We know what we have to do, everyone wants to hunt us down, that’s normal. So now it’s about us. How can we do the same again? I think everyone is ready.”

Manchester City will next play Bayern Munich in a friendly on Wednesday in Tokyo.
