Napoli striker and Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has been taking big steps towards his return ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has been working hard for his recovery ahead of Nigeria’s 2022 World Cup qualification games.

The Super Eagles will face Liberia on November 13 and Cape Verde three days after that as they look confident to progress through.

Following a victory against Salernitana, the Serie A side opened up training sessions on Tuesday. Reports confirmed that Osimhen was part of the schedule, however, carried out individual training.

Napoli No.9 sustained a calf issue on his right leg in a training session before the clash against Salernitana. Although, medical reports from the club suggest that the Nigerian did not have a serious injury.

Regardless of his problem, the Serie A leaders will not risk playing him against Legia Warsaw on Thursday night in the Europa League.

In fact, Azzurri manager Luciano Spaletti has informed that Osimhen will return to his position on the field on Sunday against Verona in Serie A.

The Nigeria international has 11 goals combined for club and country. Two of which came from the World Cup qualifying fixtures against Cape Verde and the Central African Republic.

The Super Eagles will count on their best forward for the qualifiers having confirmed his return to the Napoli squad this weekend.
