Hirving Lozano is the latest Napoli player who has tested positive for the Coronavirus ahead of the key match.

Napoli have suffered a COVID-19 outbreak in recent days. Lorenzo Insigne and Fabian Ruiz tested positive for the virus during the past week. Now, Napoli must deal with the absence of another one of their key players.

According to the club’s official Twitter account, Hirving Lozano must start his self-isolation after testing positive for the Coronavirus. The Napoli star has contracted COVID-19 while being on vacation in Mexico.

Lozano, who has received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, is asymptomatic. He will be able to travel back to Italy as soon as he provides a negative COVID-19 test.

This is a huge blow for Napoli ahead of their upcoming game against Juventus. The Partenopei will face the Turin side in a crunch league battle on January 6.

Napoli are pushing to reclaim their top spot on the Serie A table. However, they must deal with the absence of several key players in their squad. In addition to the three positive Covid cases, striker Victor Osimhen will most likely join Nigeria for the upcoming AFCON. In case of participating in the continental tournament, Osimhen will be out of Napoli’s squad for a month.
