A victory against Torino sent the Blues to the next season’s Champions League.

Victor Osimhen has insisted Napoli had enough quality to win Serie A this season.

The Blues spent a good chunk of the campaign on top of the league table. However, a sudden dip in form saw them slip behind Inter and AC Milan in the title race.

Luciano Spalletti’s side sit third on the league table, with a 1-0 win over Torino sealing their spot in the next season’s Champions League.

Speaking after the game, the Nigerian star expressed his disappointment over Napoli’s failure to claim the title.

“We are more disappointed than [the fans] for not having [won the title],” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“We are because we had the quality to win it. It was our dream to win it. Of course, our hope remains to win the title and for this, we will give everything next season to try again.”

Osimhen has attracted interest from Manchester United and Newcastle ahead of the summer transfer window. However, the Super Eagles star says he is happy with his current situation at Napoli.

Speaking about Spalletti, the 23-year-old said: “He always talks to me after training and trains me both with and without the ball.

“I know I’m dealing with a very high-level coach, really. It is a great honour and a real pleasure to be trained by him, and I hope to be able to work with him for many more years.”
