The Nigeria international missed last Sunday’s 4-0 defeat to AC Milan because of a thigh injury.
Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has ruled Victor Osimhen out of Friday’s trip to Lecce, but hopes the striker will play against AC Milan in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The 24-year-old was absent as AC Milan thrashed Napoli 4-0 in Serie A last weekend after suffering a thigh injury during the international break.
That said, Napoli are hopeful Osimhen will be available for next Wednesday’s first-leg Champions League quarter-final tie at San Siro.
“Tomorrow there is no chance. With the schedule, we said we must get to the following week,” Spalletti said of Osimhen’s availability.
“There are many possibilities to see him against Milan, but we have to wait for the practical development of next week’s work.”
Osimhen has managed 25 goals and five assists in 29 appearances across all competitions for Napoli this season.
He is the top scorer in Serie A as well, with 21 goals in 23 games. His nearest rival in the charts is Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, who has 14 goals to his name.
