Napoli will not part ways with Kalidou Koulibaly in this transfer window as the team is now ‘complete’, asserts Cristiano Giuntoli.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are the teams most strongly linked with the potential transfer of Kalidou Koulibaly.
The 29-year old defender, regarded as one of the finest players in his position in all of Europe, has been tipped for a move away from the San Paolo for some time now.
Man City are said to be in search of a new center-back to solidify their rather shaky back-line.
PSG, meanwhile, are also understood to be in the market to bring in a replacement for Thiago Silva, who put an end to his eight-year stint at the club last month.
Both the club would be an attractive destination for the Senegalese, who could be tempted to quit Napoli with the intention of taking up a new, and perhaps a bigger, challenge.
However, president Cristiano Giuntoli insists Koulibaly is content at the club and will stay put.
“I think Koulibaly is staying, we are very happy and so is he. I believe that he is staying,” said Giuntoli, according to Football Italia.
“The team was completed in January with Stanislav Lobotka and Diego Demme, who can play in a few different roles. With Amir Rrahmani, Osimhen and Petagna, we are complete, so will now try to release players who won’t have much time on the pitch.”
