The Portuguese superstar is heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Napoli have dismissed rumours about their possible move for Cristiano Ronaldo in the January transfer window.

Erik ten Hag dropped Ronaldo from his squad after the 37-year-old refused to become a late substitute against Tottenham last week.

The Portuguese superstar has trained with the Red Devils ahead of their Europa League game against Sheriff Tiraspol.

But CR7’s return hasn’t stopped the endless speculations about his next move. The broken relationship between Ronaldo and Ten Hag saw Napoli emerge as his reported suitor.

However, the Serie A giants believe they don’t need to “fix” anything this winter.

Responding to a question about Ronaldo, the club’s technical director Cristiano Giuntoli told Mediaset“The January transfer market is one of repair and we don’t have to fix anything, so I really think we won’t do anything.”

He added: “We are very far from the market. At the moment we are thinking only of everyday life, trying to improve continuously.”

In addition to Napoli, Sporting Lisbon have also distanced themselves from making a bid for Ronaldo.

Chelsea remain Ronaldo’s only serious suitors ahead of the new transfer window. But the Blues might prefer to wait for a few more months and sign the 37-year-old for free next summer.
