Milan failed to hold onto their lead at the Diego Maradona Stadium.

Napoli drew 2-2 with AC Milan in their Serie A match on Sunday. The Blues came back from behind to escape defeat against Milan.

What happened?

Milan stunned their opponents with a brilliant start, keeping their opponents under pressure for an early opener. The Rossoneri finally found the back of the net when Olivier Giroud converted Christian Pulisic’s cross with a precise header.

The veteran striker then completed his brace to double Milan’s lead in the 31st minute. This time, a cross from Davide Calabria saw Giroud jump above Napoli’s defenders to head the ball home.

Milan seemed in control of the game before the break, but Napoli managed to find their feet in the game when the second half started.

A spectacular run and a sublime finish by Matteo Politano brought Napoli back into the game only four minutes into the second period. Napoli then increased the pressure, finally managing to score the equalizer through Giacomo Raspadori’s sensational free-kick in the 64th minute.

The Blues pushed hard to complete their comeback but barely managed to create more dangerous chances. Natan’s late red card forced the hosts to play with ten men during the extra time, but they still managed to escape the game with a point.
