It is being speculated that the 33-year-old is in line to take over from Hansi Flick and become the new Bayern boss.

Julian Nagelsmann has played down Bayern Munich job links saying he has had no contact with the German and European champions.

Initially appointed on an interim basis, Hansi Flick was given the Bayern managerial role on a permanent basis following the team’s rapid progress under him.

Flick has led the team to great heights since then, helping the Bavarians become only the second team ever to win a sextuple.

The 56-year-old’s future, however, has come under question in recent weeks amid reports of a tainted relationship with sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. Also, he is being touted to take the reins of the Germany national team from Joachim Low, who is set to step down from his post after this summer’s European tournament.

Now, Nagelsmann, who is considered to be one of the most exciting coaches, is rumored to be high up on Bayern’s shortlist.

“There were no talks and there are no talks between me and Bayern Munich. Same for my agents,” the Leipzig head coach told a press conference.
