The Hammers boss has the unenviable task of facing Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United this weekend.

David Moyes has warned Cristiano Ronaldo that West Ham will do ‘everything they can’ to stop from scoring.

Ronaldo is in red-hot form, having scored three goals in his first two games back at Manchester United. He plans to add to his tally on Sunday’s trip to the London Stadium. With Edinson Cavani out, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will probably rely on the Portuguese goal machine to supply the goods again.

But while Moyes respects the threat that Ronaldo poses, the Scot hopes his side can make life difficult for United’s No.7. He also urged star striker Michail Antonio to take a leaf out of CR7’s book.

“Cristiano is an unbelievable sort of killer, as far as scoring goals,” said former United coach Moyes in a press conference on how he plans to stop the star.

“I hope we can turn Mickey Antonio into a killer of a goalscorer because Ronaldo started as a wide player, and ended up becoming a terrific number nine, so I hope that we can do the same with Mic in the years to come.

“But Ronaldo is an excellent player, he has brought another level of excitement to the Premier League, and we will do everything we can to keep him quiet.”
