Jose Mourinho spoke about Carlos Vinicius after the striker scored a brace against Wolfsberger in the Europa League.

Carlos Vinicius hasn’t had a lot of opportunities in the Premier League, but he has had a very successful start at Tottenham. Ever since his arrival on loan from Benfica, the Brazilian striker scored six goals in seven Europa League appearances.

In fact, Vinicius’ path for the leading goal-scorer award is looking bright. The teams of his direct opponents for the prize, Pizzi’s Benfica and Yazici’s Lille, were knocked out of the competition in the Round of 32. The 25-year-old striker has even earned praise from Jose Mourinho, who was impressed with Vinicius’ recent performances.

“Portugal is the perfect comfort zone for South American players to adapt to European football,” said the manager. “Coming to England was not easy for Carlos Vinícius, but he has adapted well and is giving us everything we want.”

However, the Brazilian striker’s good form won’t be enough to earn him more minutes in the league. According to Mourinho, there is one issue that Carlos Vinicius won’t be able to overcome.

“There is only one problem, which is called Harry Kane. To be on the same team as a striker in this category you need to be special, to stay motivated whether you are a starter, or have five minutes at the end of the game. He knows he won’t be playing much in the Premier League, because we have Harry Kane, but we’re happy.”

Harry Kane has been the Spurs’ biggest star this year and it only three goals away from last season’s record. The English striker has scored 21 times on 33 occasions for Tottenham this season.
